Even with a multi-tabbed web browser, online research can be difficult, if you have to constantly switch between several web sites. Based on Internet Explorer, Muddly is designed to address this issue. Its key feature is the possibility of browsing through multiple web sites, on separate panels, on the same tab. Besides that, the program's enhanced functionality makes it much easier to manage RSS feeds, favorite items, as well as your browsing sessions.

Like most web browsers on the market, Muddly is completely free. It works on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and it can be installed in less than a minute. Muddly will not interfere with other web browsers and it will not attempt to set itself as your default browser.

Besides creating navigation tabs, on the browser's user interface, you can also create up to four panels, on each tab. To create a new panel, you may click a button, on the browser's toolbar, after which you must choose a location, where you wish to place the new panel and specify a web address, which is not mandatory. If you reach the maximum number of panels, one of them will be displayed on the left half of the window, while the remaining panels will be displayed on the right half.

A maximum of four panels does not mean that you may visit four web sites on a single tab. Muddly allows you to create additional tabs, on each panel, which means that you can access an unlimited number of websites on a single master tab. If a panel is too small, you can resize it or maximize it. The program also allows you to switch to full screen mode, which makes it much easier to navigate on a website. You may create several master tabs, each with their own tabbed panels. Furthermore, the master tabs can be saved as documents, in Muddly's native format, along with your visited addresses, favorites and RSS feeds.

Muddly provides the same basic features as other web browsers. You can visit several web sites, on different tabs, jump to a home page or a search engine and so on. The browser's behavior is based on the general Internet settings, made in Windows. In other words, if you are an Internet Explorer user, you will find the same home page on Muddly's interface and you will notice that it complies to the same security or privacy settings. The browser feels just like Internet Explorer and the best part is that you don't have to configure it from the ground up.
